The GOP is blowing this as they should be on the same page. Don't believe the lame street media and go all PC on us! Trump is winning this issue with the American people and is right!.
You may be on board, but the constitution isn't. He could've accomplished what he wanted by listing countries that he'd no longer accept refugees from, but he wanted the headlines. In his brashness, his proposal is in direct opposition to our constitution. This is the SECOND time he's come up with a clearly unconstitutional proposal.

Love Trump all you want, but realize he's degrading the constitution.

He's re-clarified some of his statements since in interviews. Here is a latest poll and most say he's still climbing after his block the muslim speech.
BTW, I'm more of a Ted Cruz guy as I still don't quite trust Trump yet.

He's going to hand the election to Hillary Tyler. Just like Perot handed it to Clinton. I'm almost certain his entire candidacy is Hillary's doing.

Make no mistake. A government that can shut down mosques simply because they are mosques can shut down Bible studies because they are Bible studies. A government that can close the borders to all Muslims simply on the basis of their religious belief can do the same thing for evangelical Christians. A government that issues ID badges for Muslims simply because they are Muslims can, in the fullness of time, demand the same for Christians because we are Christians.

That quote is correct. The ONLY WAY to defeat ISIS and Islam is by the Gospel. No amount of bombs or unconstitutional executive orders can destroy an ideology. Military action can be justified in some cases, but it never can be the final answer. We can't forget that a govt big enough to give us what we want can also take away everything we have.

It is crazy to think about how one would "prove" the "approved" religion to gain entry to the United States. I guess a terrorist would only need to pack a bible to gain entry.

    More Moore on the topic:

Russell Moore, president of the Southern Baptist Convention's Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, criticized Trump's proposal on Monday, warning his "reckless, demagogic rhetoric" was an affront to religious freedom.

And the problem with Trump is not so much what he says (although bad, not all of it is enforceable past Congress or even physically/mentally possible, as Trump seems to live in an alternate universe) but that he is essentially acting petulant and at the whims of his own emotions. I get that he's gaining followers by whipping up a frenzy of distrust of the establishment, among other things, but that's a horribly unstable platform. Most of the Democrat movers and shakers might be evil (and certainly many Reps are not clean either) but most of them know what they're doing. Trump is blundering through everything and doing irreparable damage to "his" party.

People are being played. Popularity in our country in the state that it's in has ZERO to do with merit.

Who would have thought that even FOX news would join in on hating the true conservative cause? This from an unPC friend of mine and describes those how hate Cruze and Tump...

I now understand my LIBERAL friends. Its not OK to be Christian Tea Party, white, republican, conservative, politically incorrect, Pro-Life, patriot, of Southern Heritage and support the Confederate flag, Welfare reformist, work or go hungry minded American born and breed, BUT it is ok to be a MUSLIM that is taught from the quran to hate, be intolerant of any other religion, kill or convert, paedophilia, beat women and children, racist, KILL gays, have sex with animals and wipe their butts with their hands.

Whether it's "OK" or not, it's legal in this country to be all those things in your first list. And it's illegal to do most of the things in your second list. Except be Muslim. That's legal here. It's also illegal to bar entry or limit freedoms based on religion.

If that distinction seems unclear, I think that's what Trump prefers. The people who think he might conceivably be a decent president hear "it's not OK to be like you, let's make it illegal to be like them" without defining "OK." That's his base. And that's what should drive the Republican response - they need to say, "it is OK to be conservative, etc but it's not legal to do some of the things Trump talks about." Nor ethical. Nor prudent. Nor effective. Nor logical. Nor practical. Nor possible. And so on.

Anybody who proposes blatantly unconstitutional things like Trump is not a conservative. He doesn't have the record...he doesn't even have the rhetoric! Cruz is a different story. I could support Cruz easily. Trump? Not a chance.

Okay, I'll ask. Why was it okay to discriminate against Muslims when Jimmy Carter was calling the shots, but not now? It is an obvious problem. The constitution does not consider the muslim Antichrist, but the New Testament does many times.

    Carter didn't discriminate against Muslims.

Iran is a sovereign nation. Islam is not.
Iran doesn't have protection of the Constitution. Islam does.
The Constitution governs. The New Testament does not.
