Love the quotes from Coach Holtz and Higgins about the "fringe element" trying to create QB controversy. ....

Agreed, the first interception was on 3rd and 20 from midfield area and the ball was tipped, HCSH gave him a pass on that one. The interception in the end zone was a terrible decision, one even Drew Brees has made, and he should be graded down severely but the student body starting catcalls was piss poor. The momentum changing interception Smith threw against Arkansas was a game changer but "controversialists" don't seem to want to bring up how poor that read and decision were. Higgins lost us points but Smith gave up points via turnover.

With the way Texas Tech plays, it's likely that most if not all our turnovers will become points. Hopefully their defense is worse than SC St.

for me a thread like this is totally disrespectfull to Coach Holtz-- Tim Rattay-- Coach Todd. these guys put 100 plus hrs a week combined and have earned our confidence and respect. Coach and Tim have spent years with Ryan and now the backups -- understand, during game I get frustrated and second guess like any true fan but I have never felt I was better qualified to make decisions than the coaches... Coach does not owe me explaination on anything.

You and the coaches need to get over it. Controversy means that PEOPLE CARE!!! If people don't care, then you have a reason to worry. See ULM!

Smith's was against a mid level SEC team. Higgins was against a MEAC team.

Smith is a redshirt freshman. Higgins is a redshirt senior.

They are not going to be graded on the same scale. Nice try though.

The smartest thing HCSH could do is not comment on it at all. Fans pay the bills and have a right to express their feelings right or wrong. What's happening at Tech with this is mild compared to what happens at other schools.

I think Arkansas may actually be close to the top in the SEC. Alabama might be the only team better than them. We shall see but I hope they win the SEC. Their pretty good and are gaining momentum.
