Except for the fact that WKU is in our conference.
You're right, stopping the option is all about assignment football. And if our DB's cant get off the WR blocks on the outside it's gonna be a long game.

HCSH is the one who decides who he wants back there, not the position coach or DC.
Not sure why so many of our fans refuse to consider that. Yes our coaches may be bad, but not including the HC in these rants is very much like something a UL-L fan would do.

My memory may be hazy because I am getting older, but didn't Holtz remark about wanting to play better defense when he was hired. Someone was talking about how great we were on offense, and Holtz said something about getting better on Defense.
That was HCDD. HCSH said he wanted to burn it to the ground.
When asked about the defensive woes this year he has remarked more than once that he was also a defensive coach, capable of making the right decisions. If he can't see the lack of talent on defense he is blind. If he is thinks the best we have is on the field he is admitting that his judge of talent is bad...not giving the guys he has recruited and put on scholarship a simple CHANCE to "compete". Some of these guys will be RS Seniors next year and NEVER see the field. They are not injured. They practice and travel every week. No way they are worse than some of the weak ass mess we've seen out there every week...NO WAY! Some of these starters couldn't do 10 pushups.
We only have 2 RS JR LBs. Michael Mims and Frasier Hogan. Weren't they on special teams this week? I know I saw 4 out there.

You never know who is going to be on special teams, but those two have been used very little this year.
They were at least 3rd team. They have to be getting close to 2nd team now that Santos and Harris are gone.
He played the same two guys they entire game against Western. They never came out. One of them was HORRIBLE.
