Who is funding T-Mac's salary and recent raise? T-Mac's raise could've funded full COA for our entire basketball team. Instead, we're stuck with Tommy for at least 5 more years at a higher price. T-Mac's raise and extension was a terrible use of our limited athletic budget.

I don't necessarily disagree with your post above. But my question to you is, have you --and others-- lodged any complaints to Dr. Les Guice about what a poor job you think T-Mac is doing? I highly suspect not. Otherwise I believe we would have seen more fallout here on BB&B about this issue.

One thing I've learned about the folks in Ruston over the last 35 years......YOU HAVE TO TELL THEM, when something is going wrong (e.g., T-Mac's job performance). Otherwise they think everything is going great in Disneyland, and everybody loves the job they are doing.

Your vitriol is misguided. Exactly what kind of treatment do you expect from T-Mac? I ask, because I KNOW Derek Dooley didn't treat you like a "Squire Creek member", and yet most everyone really seemed to like the job he did at LA Tech (as an AD).

T-Mac is not your friend. He's not your beer drinking buddy, and he will never ask you to play a round of golf. He's your hired gun. Nothing more. And as I've stated many times before, guys like you and I will be here to pick up the pieces long after his kind have left the building and moved on. But, as long as T-Mac is good at what he does --and good for our school-- then I don't care whether or not he even knows my name.

Whether or not T-Mac is good at his job, is a totally different subject. But your athletic donations go to LA Tech, not to T-Mac.

If you don't have someone making connections every day, sucking up to people everyday, schmoozing people everyday...then you are leaving money on the table.

I'd say the last several other than Dooley were all yes men for Dr. Reneau. In BVDV's defense his instructions were probably inconsistent to say the least. He had some good points, but to put it mildly, he was not professional.

Dooley was an ass, but he brought some heavy hitters to the table for us. The Learfield deal had some good points, but IMO it took too much control away from the AD.

Jim Oakes did the job he was hired to do, but D.R. didn't recognize the need for more after we got in the WAC. J.O. was just in over his head. No many guys care as much about LaTech as Jim Oakes.
