I've seen a few comments from CFB fans about "the Sonny Cumbie effect" in getting transfers. If so, great! But once on the roster even the best talent still needs good Xs and Os coaching.

Seems pretty ambiguous. If it’s a mental health issue, shouldn’t the only option be to allow a transfer to the school in the town where the players family lives? Mental health is serious enough that the family should be involved directly and daily. If it’s academic struggles, maybe college isn’t for you. If the degree program doesn’t meet your expectation, maybe you should have researched it better. We will still have a huge number of students with multiple transfers.

He's a very good get if he can stay healthy. He's not an every down back but he is explosive.

Yeah he probably gave him a scholarship. Sonny has a propensity to give scholarships to guys with no other options.

BTW how much NIL money do you think LSU pays walk-ons who never play?

It sure seems like our conditioning and overall strength in tackling is much worse. Agility has declined as evidenced by guys being out of position a lot on tackles.

It's funny that you say agility has declined because guys are out of position. Guys are out of position because of coaching and preparation. Putting a guy in a position to make a play can make an average player look great, while poor preparation and coaching can make a great player look average.

Isn’t it obvious that the transfer portal is a window into what a country of babies and quitters we’re becoming? As a whole people don’t really want to work for anything anymore. Government has made it too easy for the masses to get something for nothing and now athletics is following suit. If a player will quit his school because of who is on the team, his in-house competition, then he’ll just as likely quit his team because of falling behind in a game. Sports are no longer making men out of boys, institutions are making people without character.

Oh, Jesus Christ. People leave their jobs every single day for different jobs. This is no different. The college sports landscape has changed. It's a player empowerment era. It's no different than what happens in the real world every single day.

Many guys with prototypical QB size absolutely suck. Meanwhile, the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft measured at 5-10 and 204 pounds at the combine.

It's funny that you say agility has declined because guys are out of position. Guys are out of position because of coaching and preparation. Putting a guy in a position to make a play can make an average player look great, while poor preparation and coaching can make a great player look average.

Maybe it’s the wrong word, but I’m thinking more along the lines of poor reaction to the ball carrier. Seemed we had rocks in our shoes. Even a guy who was in position whiffed on the tackle often because the ball carrier juked an inch to one side.
