The question wasYes, if we go undefeated and lost in the 1st round of the CUSA tourney, I believe our RPI would be enough for consideration into the NCAAT and we'd be the auto-bid from CUSA for the NIT.

Where do we find these teams to play? Not even going to call them a school. Might as well play the intramural teams and generate some student interest.

last year i saw a list of “approved” schools - schools should be air quoted. I couldn't find it recently.
I am sure there is a list of schools somewhere in the TAC called "schools that will play you for gas money, and a snack allowance" that is where most come from.

At the time of the article (2018), Northwestern State had 3 losses to Non-DI schools over 5 seasons.
All 3 of our Non-DI opponents are NAIA or NCCAA.For games to be considered countable for statistics (including rankings and records), the following must be true:
• The institution must be a four-year, degree-granting institution and must compete as a fouryear, degree-granting institution.
• The opponent must be considered a varsity intercollegiate team as defined by NCAA bylaw 17
and must be considered countable competition as defined by NCAA bylaws 31.3.3.1 (Divisions
I and II) and 31.3.4.1.1 (Division III).
• The institution must satisfy one of the following:
o Is an active, provisional or reclassifying member of the NCAA
o Is accredited by one of the six regional accrediting bodies in the United States
> Middle States Commission on Higher Education
> New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Commission on Institutions of
Higher Education
> North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, The Higher Learning Commission
> Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities
