I agree with this 100%. They are not a North Louisiana Station. You can't pick it up here in Shreveport, but you can pick up KXKZ (that's a North Louisiana Station). Can you pick it up in Lake Providence?

Until its heard from Waskom to Vicksburg, it's not a North Louisiana station.

It is not that they don't want to carry anything for Tech, it is that they can't because we have the contracts. Just like we bid for and got the contract for ULM baseball. We won it and it has been beneficial for our stations and our reaching out to everyone in North East Louisiana.

As far as the pee-peed in my cherios comments, if you had to deal with this on a daily basis, and your livelihood depended on it, then you would probably understand a lot better.

The television stations with locations in both Monroe and Shreveport cover Tech. Tech is covered faily and equally in Monroe as well, by us. If TV, Newspaper, and Radio Stations shut down their boundaries and said that they were not going to cover and sell anywhere but the town where their office is located. They would go belly- up in 6 Months. That can only work maybe in the big cities like Dallas, Atlanta, etc., but it can't work in this area or any other small market.

We have an ESPN studio in Monroe as well just so we don't have to deal with this "Ruston" Station crap.

Nick I apologize if this "Ruston station crap" is affecting your personal life. But next time instead of trying to give us the line about the Peach not being a Ruston station because the signal can reach to Monroe, you should give the point about money. That is a much more compelling argument (and it is actually right).

Would it take out some of the bitterness of this situation if I told you:

We are finishing our $75,000 to $100,000 donation to La Tech Athletics..
We have been a $50,000 PLUS corp. sponsor to La Tech Athletics for the past 7 years...
We have DONATED thousands of man hours to the broadcasts of La Tech Sports..
We have broadcasted the La Tech baseball games and paid for Dave and expenses cause the "network" didn't include those games with Football and Basketball...
We have 4 La Tech graduates on full time staff with many part time employees still going to Tech and all four grads are in Champs (LTAC)

we have 4 radio stations in our group:
KXKZ FLAGSHIP STATION OF LA TECH ATHLETICS
ESPN 97.7 NATIONAL REGIONAL AND LOCAL SPORTS
THE PEACH 99.3
KRUS 1490 AM

Because of having 3 fms we are fortunate to "span" the northeast la sports "globe" and bring the area as much local games and info. as possible...

Ask Malcolm Butler about our relationship with doing everything La Tech Athletics has asked and more...
Ask Dave Nitz---who has been supporting La Tech Athletics for a long long time with everything we can do as a broadcast facility...

Would we like to have a class a perfect signal on ALL OUR STATIONS from the Red river west to the Mississippi east and from Alex to Little Rock--you bet....we may some day ...working on it all the time...

I hope this takes some of the bitterness out of our stations trying to cover as much of the area as possible for ALL sports fans.....with A DEFINATE EMPHASIS ON LA TECH FANS AS ALWAYS..

If you want to be completely technical about it, our home offices are in Michigan. So I guess under that logic, we should be called a Michigan station.

Yes, the station is called THE PEACH and yes we have an office in Ruston, but we are not "Ruston" stations. We are North Louisiana stations. If you worked in the business or sold any kind of advertising, you would know and understand this.

If you want to change it, move the tower to Ouachita Parish, open a KPCH studio in Monroe, and rename it "The Pine Cone" or whatever...THEN, you won't be perceived as a Ruston station.

Just a little FYI for you Mr. all knowing world of radio man, please know and understand that I am not a radio DJ, I am a sports radio personality. DJ's play music, I do not:icon_wink:.

For the record, I want you to know I'm not being critical of programming. Nowhere on this thread have I lobbied for or against certain content. KPCH can air Centenary Tiddlywinks, ULM Cricket, or live audio of the grass growing in Tiger Stadium...you gotta do what you think is best for business and I understand that. I just wanted to point out how ridiculous it was to insist that a station physically located in Ruston called "The Peach" is not a "Ruston station."
