Who is Scott of Scott's catfish?
I don't know who he is, but he can cook up some tasty catfish. The original restaurant in on Cypress Street in West Monroe, across from Super One. I think he has been voted best catfish in the Monroe area a couple of times in the BirdCageLiner's annual restaurant poll.
They already have a Scott's on Cypress St. in West Monroe
I have 2 requests, and considering there are some formidable cooks on this board, I thought I would test the waters and see if anybody's willing to give up their family recipes.
One, does anyone make their own barbecue sauce? Two, does anyone have a peach cobbler recipe?
My hot-water cornbread bombed, so it'll be a while before I try that again!
Thanks!
I have a peach cobbler recipe. It is not the usual one, but it is AWESOME!
Pour a can of "peach pie filling" in a dish and season with a bit of cinnamon and sugar.
Cover the top with butter recipe cake mix. Just pour the dry mix over the top. Take a stick of butter and slice it to cover the cake mix. Bake on 350 until slightly brown.
Heavenly.
I know it's not an "eating place", per se;
but, KUDOS to Mrs. Baird's ! ! !
I try to stop there every trip I make to Ruston so I can get my ticket punched.![]()

So don't laugh if I'm way off base here, but are you talking about the bread place? You get your game ticket punched? So what do you get after so many punches? Never heard of such, but I don't go there if that's what you're talking about now that they moved to their present location. Never down that way.
